Ingredients
For the Coated Apples
-
2 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), sliced into thick wedges
-
1 cup strawberry candy melts (or white/pink candy melts + ½ tsp strawberry extract)
-
½ cup crushed Golden Oreos or shortbread cookies
-
2 tablespoons freeze-dried strawberries, crushed
-
1 tablespoon melted butter (optional, helps the crunch topping bind better)
-
Optional: melted white chocolate for drizzling
For the Strawberry Cream Cheese Dip
-
4 oz cream cheese, softened
-
2 tablespoons powdered sugar (adjust to taste)
-
1 tablespoon strawberry syrup or crushed freeze-dried strawberries
-
1–2 tablespoons milk or cream (to adjust consistency)
-
Optional: strawberry puree or pink food coloring for extra swirl and color
Instructions
-
Prepare the Crunch Topping
Crush Golden Oreos and freeze-dried strawberries in a food processor or ziplock bag until fine. Stir in melted butter if using, then transfer to a shallow dish for rolling. -
Melt the Candy Coating
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt strawberry candy melts in 30-second bursts, stirring between each, until smooth and pourable. Add a few drops of coconut oil if needed to thin. -
Dip and Coat Apple Slices
Slice apples and pat dry. Dip each wedge halfway into the melted candy, let excess drip off, then immediately roll in the crunch topping. Place on parchment to set. Add a white chocolate drizzle if you’d like! -
Make the Cream Cheese Dip
In a small bowl, whip cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar and strawberry syrup or crushed freeze-dried strawberries. Mix well. Stir in milk or cream a little at a time until desired consistency is reached. Add pink color or puree for extra swirl.
-
Chill and Serve
Chill dip until ready to serve. Arrange coated apples on a tray and serve with the dip in a bowl. Enjoy right away for best crunch!
Notes
-
Cold apples help the candy coating set quickly and cleanly—straight from the fridge is best.
-
Make sure apple slices are fully dry before dipping to keep the coating from slipping.
-
Want to make them handheld? Insert popsicle sticks into each apple wedge before dipping.
-
Use freeze-dried raspberries for a tangier crunch topping if strawberries aren’t available.
-
These are best served fresh but can be stored in the fridge up to 48 hours in a single layer.
-
Pair with Mini Strawberry Cream Croissants or Old-Fashioned Cherry Cobbler for a vibrant dessert spread!
