Ocean Sunset Bomb Shot

Ocean Sunset Bomb Shot: A Tropical Party Showstopper

  • Author: Sam

Description

The Ocean Sunset Bomb Shot is a sweet and citrusy layered cocktail that captures the drama of a tropical sunset in a glass. With vibrant raspberry and blue curaçao liqueurs layered in the shot and a chaser of vodka, orange juice, and grenadine, this stunning bomb shot is a guaranteed party favorite. It’s quick to make, visually spectacular, and tastes like vacation in one glorious gulp!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Shot Glass (The Bomb):

  • ½ oz raspberry liqueur (like Chambord or DeKuyper)

  • ½ oz blue curaçao

For the Tall Glass (The Chaser):

  • 1 oz vodka

  • 3 oz orange juice

  • ½ oz grenadine

  • Ice (optional, but chilled preferred)

Instructions

  • Layer the Bomb Shot:
Pour raspberry liqueur into a shot glass. Using the back of a spoon, slowly layer blue curaçao over it to create a striking two-tone effect.

  • Prepare the Chaser:
In a tall glass, combine vodka and orange juice. Stir gently. Then, drizzle grenadine slowly down the inside of the glass—it will sink and create a beautiful “sunset” gradient.

  • Drop and Drink:
When ready to serve, drop the shot glass into the tall glass and drink immediately. Enjoy the bold fusion of tropical fruit and citrus flavors!

Notes

  • Want it extra refreshing? Chill your ingredients beforehand or add ice to the chaser glass.

  • Try swapping the raspberry liqueur with blackcurrant or strawberry liqueur for a twist.

  • Pineapple juice makes a fun and fruity substitute for orange juice.

  • For parties, pre-mix the chaser in a pitcher and layer several shot glasses in advance—let guests do the dramatic drop themselves!

  • This drink is all about presentation, so serve it in clear glasses to show off the layers.
