  • Author: Sam

Description

Blow Pop Jello Shots are playful, candy-inspired treats made with fruity gelatin and flavored vodka, served on lollipop sticks for extra fun. Perfect for parties, these sweet and tart boozy bites look like nostalgic lollipops but come with a grown-up twist. Easy to prep ahead and totally crowd-pleasing—get ready to be the star of your next gathering!

Ingredients

Scale

Cherry Layer:

  • 1 (3 oz) box cherry gelatin

  • 1 cup boiling water

  • ½ cup cold water

  • ½ cup cherry-flavored vodka

Lemon or Citrus Layer:

  • 1 (3 oz) box lemon or citrus gelatin

  • 1 cup boiling water

  • ½ cup cold water

  • ½ cup citrus-flavored vodka

Additional Supplies:

  • Lollipop or sucker sticks

  • Silicone candy molds or oval silicone molds

  • Mini cupcake liners (for presentation)

  • Nonstick spray (optional but helpful)

Instructions

  1. Prep the molds:
Lightly spray silicone molds with nonstick spray if desired. Set them on a flat tray or baking sheet for easy transfer to the fridge.

  2. Make the cherry layer:
In a bowl, dissolve cherry gelatin in 1 cup boiling water. Stir for 2 minutes until completely dissolved. Add ½ cup cold water and ½ cup cherry vodka. Mix well. Pour into half of the mold cavities, filling each about ¾ full. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm.

  3. Make the lemon/citrus layer:
Repeat the same steps using lemon or citrus gelatin, cold water, and vodka. Pour into the remaining molds and chill until fully set.

  4. Insert the sticks:
Once the jello is firm, gently insert a lollipop stick into each shot. If the gelatin is too firm, make a small pilot hole using a skewer or toothpick.

  5. Unmold and serve:
Carefully remove jello shots from molds. Place into mini cupcake liners for a polished presentation and easy handling.

Notes

  • Make ahead tip: These shots can be made up to 5 days in advance. Store in the fridge in molds or upright in a container.

  • Customize flavors: Try mixing different gelatin flavors or using other flavored vodkas like watermelon, raspberry, or orange.

  • Make it non-alcoholic: Replace vodka with fruit juice or more cold water for a kid-friendly version.

  • Use silicone molds: They release the jello much more easily than plastic ones—trust me, it’s worth it!

  • Want to go all out? Add edible glitter or a candy center before chilling for extra sparkle and surprise!
