Beach Blast Cocktail – A Sunset in a Glass

  • Author: Sam

Description

The Beach Blast Cocktail is your ultimate summer sip—vibrant, fruity, and layered like a tropical sunset! Bursting with citrus vodka, berry rum, and a splash of blue curaçao, it’s the kind of cocktail that stops people in their tracks. Perfect for beach parties, backyard hangs, or just a night when you’re dreaming of the ocean. Make this at your next get-together and wow your guests with the flavor and the view in a glass!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz citrus vodka

  • 2 oz berry-flavored rum (blueberry or raspberry recommended)

  • 1 oz blue curaçao

  • 1 oz pineapple juice

  • 1 oz cranberry juice

  • 1 tbsp simple syrup (optional, adjust to taste)

  • Crushed ice (enough to fill two tall glasses)

  • Fresh blueberries, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Fill your glasses: Start by packing two tall glasses (like highball or hurricane glasses) to the top with crushed ice. This helps support the layers.

  2. Blue base layer: In a shaker, mix blue curaçao with a splash of water or lemon-lime soda. Gently pour this into the bottom of each glass.

  3. Berry rum layer: Using the back of a spoon, slowly float the berry-flavored rum over the blue layer. Pour gently for clean separation.

  4. Sunset top layer: In a shaker, combine citrus vodka, pineapple juice, cranberry juice, and simple syrup (if using). Shake lightly with ice. Float this mixture carefully over the berry layer using a spoon.

  5. Garnish and serve: Top with a little extra crushed ice and sprinkle with fresh blueberries. Serve immediately and enjoy your layered sunset in a glass!

Notes

  • Crushed ice is key to keeping your layers distinct—don’t skip it!

  • Make each layer in a separate container ahead of time and keep chilled if serving a crowd.

  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute the alcohols with colorful juices or sodas (like blue sports drink, berry juice, and lemonade).

  • Layering tip: the back of a spoon helps slow the pour and prevents layers from mixing.

  • Adjust sweetness to your liking by adding or omitting simple syrup.
